Dead Senses is a noise rock band based in LA, formed in 2022. Distinguished by their loud and unapologetic sound, they seamlessly blend noise rock with post-punk experimentalism reminiscent of current bands like Metz, Chatpile, Pissed Jeans, and Idles as well as classic groups like Swans, Unwound, Clikitat Ikatowi, and Laughing Hyenas. Both recorded and live, Dead Senses is a visceral experience, pushing the boundaries of intensity and passion in every performance.
In Fall 2024, they will be releasing their new LP Dreamless on vinyl and streaming through Record Heads. In the lead-up to the release, they will be releasing the songs "We're Fake" and "Writhe" as singles accompanied by remixes from Cop Funeral. Lyrically, the songs on Dreamless deal with the cruel optimism of dreams ("Dreamless," "That's Amoré," and "Skin"), the trauma of everyday life under late capitalism ("It just gets worse," "Writhe," "Preponderance," and "Sight") and the arbitrariness of authenticity in the age of social media ("We're Fake").
The band's current line-up consists of Sal (guitars), Scott (drums), and Michael (bass, vocals, loops). All were previously in punk, hardcore, metal, noise rock, and power violence bands in LA, Chicago, and Pittsburgh.
Their previous releases include their debut cassette album released by Already Dead Tapes + Records in 2023 as well as two self-released demos in 2022 and 2023.
